If you’re a Canadian, American President Donald Trump’s 25% tariff threat is unsettling. However, Canadians need to remember that the United States needs Canada’s goods and bountiful natural resources as much, or even more, than Canada needs American goods and resources. If he implements this tariff, it will be equally devastating to the American economy and standard of living, which means major job losses in the U.S. No matter how large a cult following a leader has, support will greatly diminish the number of supporters that leader has if there is a drastic economic downturn. In a world of avarice, money always talks, usually first.
There is something else Canada should be very wary of, though; the U.S. using military might to invade Canada. I know, this sounds far-fetched and impossible, but, it is not. You have to think outside the box and be ready for all potential eventualities. History teaches us repeatedly that when one country greatly covets things another country possesses, invasion happens and it’s war. Only ethnicity/religion exceeds this as a cause for war. I’m not saying this will happen, but, worth considering and being prepared for.
